The kind of PC filament used impacts the process of 3D printing. A good filament is the one which has a higher consistency of diameter and which is evenly wound on the spool with an accurate tension without getting tangled when unwound.

ePC 1.75mm 3D Printing Filament 0.5kg – Natural is a flame retardant polycarbonate filament which finds its use in applications where heat resistance along with low flammability is a key factor. ePC comes in natural color, is highly transparent, is flame retardant to UL94: V-2 levels, prints at temperatures of 235-260° C, is environmentally friendly and non-toxic.

Additionally, the ePC is highly malleable and is easy to process. Shrinkage rate of the ePC filament is about the same as the ABS filament. Also, the ePC had good thermostability and high distortion temperature.

Print Settings:

Hot end: 235-260°C

First Layer: 230°C

Print Base temperature: 80℃

Print Speed：30-60 mm/s

Move Speed：90-150mm/s

Nozzle Type: Hardened/Disposable

Nozzle Diameter: >0.5mm (0.6mm recommended)

Heated bed: 80°C (Use of Elmer’s purple glue stick for adhesion is recommended)

Min layer time: 5 seconds

Stainless steel nozzle is needed.

The shrinkage rate is about the same as ABS, and high distortion, high accuracy without a warped edge. High flame resistance, Flame-retardant level: UL94-V2.

Polycarbonate filament is an extremely high strength and temperature-resistant material commonly used in parts that need to survive tough conditions, and in a variety of engineering applications. The ability to shake off high temperatures is both a blessing and a curse – PC is a notoriously difficult 3D printer filament to print. With a glass transition temperature of around 150 °C, nothing in the FDM 3D printer materials range can compete with it. PLA starts to lose form at around 60°C, PETG around 80°C, and ABS 105°C. For high temperature applications, PC is in a league of its own.

Polycarbonate (PC) filament is extremely strong yet lightweight. It’s transparent like glass, but has far greater impact resistance and tensile strength. Therefore, Polycarbonate is perfect for transparent prints that will look great and mimic that glassy finish, and that are also tough as nails.

PC filament is also bendable – and machine bendable at room temperature – with this flexibility allowing it to withstand high tensile forces that break or shatter filaments like ABS. It is far tougher than filaments like ABS or PLA, and stands up very well to general wear and tear over time.
